
Grace and the Good is a vocal ensemble that celebrates women’s voices. Our passion is to sing from the heart with a full-bodied sound that ties into the emotions of the music we perform. Grace Rossiter
Born in London, Grace is a choral conductor, composer and arranger. A champion of youth music, she has been Musical Director of the Finchley Children’s Music Group since 2001. Grace is also Deputy Chorus Director of the BBC Symphony Chorus, Musical Director of Finchley Choral Society, and Director of the BBC Proms Youth Choir Academy.
As Chorus Master, Grace has prepared choirs for Marin Alsop, Martyn Brabbins, Joana Carneiro, Jessica Cottis, Sir Colin Davis, Rumon Gamba, Richard Hickox, Kurt Mazur, Mark Wigglesworth, Ryan Wigglesworth and Alexander Vedernikov.
She regularly works with leading International choirs and orchestras in London’s major concert venues, whilst also preparing choirs for large-scale events such as Madonna at Wembley for Live Earth, as well as staged productions with the National Theatre and English National Opera.
Grace gave the premiere of Kerry Andrew’s No Place Like, conducting the Ten Pieces Children’s Choir at the BBC Proms. She has also premiered works by James Weeks, John Pickard, Malcolm Singer, Ian Stephens, Michael Finnissy and Alastair Putt.
Grace has been a guest conductor with the BBC Singers, most recently conducting a programme marking International Women’s Day 2020. She has also written and arranged a number of works for the BBC Singers, including settings commissioned for the BBC Proms Dubai, BBC Music Day and the BBC Singers’ Family Concert at Milton Court.
